Cadmium Zinc Telluride single crystal (Cd1-xZnxTe, CZT) is a wide-band II-VI compound semiconductor, which can be regarded as solid solution of CdTe and ZnTe, with sphalerite structure at room temperature and pressure, belonging to the cubic crystal system. lts melting point varies from 1092℃ and 1295℃ depending on the Zn content. lts lattice constant can be modulated by changing the Zn composition, and it can perfectly match with the narrow-band HgCdTe material in the lattice, so it can be used as the preferred substrate material for HgCdTe epitaxy. Cadmium Zinc Telluride has been widely used in the preparation of high-performance infrared focal plane detectors.
